AXIS 30 GMDSS
The new AXIS 30 radio
(Navico)
is purpose-designed as a GMDSS compliant emergency handheld
VHF. It is ideally suited for use in a liferaft, although it
can also provide emergency communications in the event of a
vessel losing electrical power. The AXIS 30 features a
removable lithium battery that gives an amazing 15 hours
use, and will hold charge for up to five years.
In keeping with ease-of-use approach, AXIS 30 can
be operated with no previous training. It has large, clear,
illuminated controls, enabling full use of the radio in
total darkness. It is also reassuring to know that the unit
is buoyant if dropped in water.

50 GMDSS
As the latest addition to the range, the AXIS 50 provides
a competitive solution for both on board and emergency
use. Although smaller than its predecessor, the AXIS 50
provides a similar level of performance. Its high
efficiency antenna gives the best possible range, whilst
maximizing battery life. All the features expected on a
modern handheld are provided. The clear LCD shows channel,
operating and battery status, and can be illuminated for
night time use.
